John Rossheim

John Rossheim
The Free Agent Advisor
Free Agent Advisor's Forum

John Rossheim is an Internet content consultant who markets his skills and does most of his work from his home in Providence, Rhode Island. An editor, writer and advisor to editorial organizations and a host of online communities, John works in a variety of subject areas, from corporate computing to political news.

John's philosophy of free agency is to mix a pragmatic approach to business with an emphasis on personal accomplishment and satisfaction. Being a free agent usually means being your own marketing guru -- and strategist and bookkeeper and chief technologist. Plus somebody has to get the work done, empty the paper shredder and fill in when the babysitter gets the flu. This hat-juggling act is where it all begins: the anxiety, the excitement and the potential to rake in the dough -- or end up raking leaves to pay the mortgage.

Before John made his exodus from the land of the employed, he worked as an editor and producer for a variety of online and print publishers. Most recently, he was a contributing producer at Microsoft's MSN Sidewalk Boston Web site. John has also served as a managing producer of Lead Story, a news service of the online AT&T Business Network; a senior news editor and managing producer at AT&T's Interchange Online Network; and a department editor at Ziff-Davis' PC Week. As an editor at the Providence Journal, he occasionally contributed bylined columns to the editorial pages.
